Introducing: Bellman & Symfon - accessible products making a difference in the everyday life of people who are deaf and hard of hearing

We want you to know that this is not a paid partnership or an advertisement. We are sharing this with you because we love these products and believe in sharing resources and information with our community. If you use the discount code provided, you receive a discount on the products and InnoCaption does not receive any kind of compensation.

Our InnoCaption Team met Bellman & Symfon for the first time during this year’s AAA + HearTECH Expo in St. Louis, MO. We were walking through the exhibit floor while we had a break from showing our app to healthcare professionals, checking out new technologies that we thought might be worth sharing with our users.

We were drawn to the Bellman & Symfon exhibit table as soon as we saw their accessible solutions. The first thing we noticed was how well designed their products were. We knew we had to let Joe know immediately!

Pause for context: If you know our co-CEO, Joe Duarte, you know that he grew up with a profound hearing loss. Because of this, Joe has tried most accessible devices out there - from smoke alarms and alarm clocks, to personal amplifiers and bed shakers, he’s tried them all.

We spoke to owner and founder, Peter Jungvid, whose sense of purpose and mission has always been part of Bellman & Symfon’s culture. He told us that the human emotion, of knowing that someone is thinking of you, is significant to the philosophy which characterizes a Bellman & Symfon product. That’s why they are based on the human condition, not only on medical needs and technical capabilities.

Right then, we thought to ourselves that our users should know more about these wonderful products - but we realized that the way a product looks should not be enough reason to recommend it. That’s why we invited the team behind Bellman & Symfon to stop by our office after the conference was over - so we could test their products for ourselves. We were blown away by the level of quality of every product we tried out but what really captured our attention was Bellman & Symfon’s mission, culture, and story that they shared with us.

Below, we are going to let you know more about why we think InnoCaption and Bellman & Symfon have so much in common. However, if you want to know more about their products before you keep on reading, you can check out Bellman & Symfon’s full catalog here (use code INNOCAPTION10 for 10% off your entire order). We feel like it is important to note once again that this is NOT a paid partnership and we are not receiving any kind of compensation when you use the code. As you know, we believe in resource and information sharing, so when we were blown away by these products, we wanted to share them with you – and pass along savings to you instead of receiving any kind of compensation.

Bellman & Symfon’s
mission is simple: they are driven to make a difference for people who are deaf and hard of hearing by offering solutions that empower people to stay safe, independent, and socially active. The way they develop solutions that add value to people’s lives is by listening to and understanding their customers’ needs.

Sounds familiar?

Our team at InnoCaption is driven by one purpose: to deliver equal access on the phone to people who are deaf and hard of hearing by empowering them with the confidence to make calls on their own. Just like at Bellman & Symfon, user feedback is a key part of what makes us able to deliver a product that helps improve the quality of life of our users.

Three core values: Customer Centric, Solution Oriented, and Quality Driven

We asked Peter how Bellman & Symfon works to understand their customers. His responses were simple:

  • We listen to our customers’ needs
  • We are easy to deal with
  • We are proactive in our customer relations
  • We are competent and handle communication reliably

In addition to that, Bellman & Symfon is constantly challenging themselves to develop new and better products by doing these things:

  • We contribute with new ideas
  • We encourage each other to come up with creative ideas
  • We have an open attitude
  • We show respect to each other and listen to each other’s opinions

Peter believes there is always room for improvement, however. That’s why Bellman & Symfon is always looking for solutions that are easy to implement and live with. In Peter’s own words, here’s how they are do this:

  • Every day, we ask ourselves: What can we do better?
  • We are result-oriented and challenge each other to continually improve
  • We like and embrace change
  • We behave in an ethical, responsible and sustainable way

We’ve walked by a lot of exhibit tables showcasing accessible devices to the deaf and hard of hearing before. It wasn’t until we saw Bellman & Symfon’s products that we felt we had something worth sharing with our users.
